Setting Up Your Principles |

Watership Planner can be used as is after installation. However to get the most out of the experience, you should define your principles. You can define your principles by clicking on the principles toolbar button.
Your principles are made up of three parts: values, a mission statement and roles. Many planning methodologies have a concept of values and roles and if you've already written them down you can enter them here.
Values
Values are beliefs or philosophies that guide us through our lives. Coming up with a prioritized list of our values will help drive us towards fulfillment. A list of common values is included to help you get started.
Make sure to order them so that if a decision ever comes up between two or more values, you can quickly make the right decision. You can order them using the up and down buttons.
Mission Statement
A Mission Statement is a reason for being here. It's a declaration of your purpose in life. The clearer the image, the easier it will be to get there. Be sure to reference this often to keep your vision vivid.
Roles
Roles are defined areas of responsibility. They are made of values and are given a color scheme that will be displayed for any item that is associated with the role.
If you'd like, you can use roles as categories all by themselves or combined with roles. A role does not require values to work and can thus be a used as a simple item category.
Finished
Once you've finished defining your roles you can associate most items in Watership Planner with a role. Having your principles in place and well defined is your first step to a more rewarding life. Every aspect will now be rooted in your principles. You can quickly tell which item is more important to you by its role. Statistics will now be available for you on how much time you spend on each goal as well.
